THIS DAY IN HISTORY APR. 4

On April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King, Jr., was assassinated. I can vividly recall police on horseback riding in front of my Brooklyn high school trying to contain the rioting crowds.

  1. I remember that they decided to postpone Sing, which was supposed to have been that weekend. They were afraid of riots.

  2. I was in Whitman at the time, and remember we were in social studies class, with our teacher telling us about it.
